Tournesol, artistes à l’hôpital (artists at the hospital)
Since 1990, Tournesol, Artistes à l’hôpital, has accompanied hospitalisation by proposing artistic activities in places traditionally reserved for medical care. This is how Tournesol creates opportunities for artists, patients and caregivers to meet, enriching and stimulating the cultural life of healthcare institutions. With values of solidarity, artistic excellence and cultural diversity at its core, Tournesol is committed to nurturing the cultural rights of hospitalised people.
Tournesol is active in around thirty short, medium and long-stay hospitals (medicine, oncology, psychiatry, rehabilitation, multiple disabilities, geriatrics, etc.), as well as among marginalised people (Paris social action centre, prisons, nursing homes with a social focus) in the Greater Paris area.
With nearly 300 musical events every year, Tournesol proposes projects tailored to the needs of institutions and artists: bedside concerts, ambulatory and in wards concerts, musical workshops, collaborative creation and artist-in-residence programmes. All styles are represented: ancient, classical and contemporary music, world music, jazz, rock, urban music, songs and pop music.
