Musique & santé (Music & health)

;

The Musique & Santé association, founded in 1998, works to promote and spread live music in hospitals and care facilities for people with disabilities.

Through the contribution of artists, healthcare facilities become places of culture and can offer unique opportunities to engage with artistic creation. These shared moments with the patient, his family, carers and musicians are windows to the outside world, creating new forums for expression and communication during hospital stays.

The Musique & Santé association has been mandated by the Direction générale de la création artistique (General Department for Artistic Creation) of the French Ministry of Culture to develop initiatives, training programmes and research at national and international level on the topic of culture in hospitals.

“For several years, Sacem’s Comité du cœur has been supporting the Musique & Santé association in its healthcare-related activities. Musical performances for children hospitalised in oncology and haematology wards, workshops with autistic teenagers, artistic residencies, and music at the elderly bedside in geriatric wards: this partnership with the Comité brings live music to these vulnerable audiences, who are often cut off from culture.”

director of Musique & Santé
